DSM Names New Assistant Executive Director
Des Moines International Airport (DSM) has appointed Brian Mulcahy, A.A.E., CPA as Assistant Executive Director, following a national recruitment led by Steven Baldwin Associates (SBA).
Mulcahy has over 10 years of airport executive leadership experience, serving most recently as DSM’s Director of Finance and Administration. He has also held senior positions with Affiliated Computer Services, Marsh, Inc., and Wellmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield. A Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and an instrument-rated Army Aviator, Mulcahy brings both operational expertise and financial acumen to the role.
At DSM, Mulcahy oversees a combined operating and capital budget of approximately $50 million and manages all financial and administrative functions, including HR oversight and airline use agreements. Under his leadership, airline revenues grew from $28M in 2012 to $96M today, while income increased by 26% from 2016 to 2019.
